Day Three
Posted by: Dan @ 9:03 pm

A peaceful and easy day today… no medical center, no doctors, no forms, no appointments. Just a day for us. We got out of the hotel around noon and drove the 10 miles to the Stanford U campus (tomorrow we move back to the first hotel we had here which is just a mile or two from campus). On the way to the campus we stopped at a couple of bike shops and gave them my "See Bicycles" bumperstickers to distribute — so we’re going national with this driver education campaign now. Met some really nice folks at the bike shops and shared bike-car war stories (I won).
We spent most of the afternnoon until about 5pm walking around the campus — a very large, beautiful place that is closed to vehicles. Nice to get away from cars in this car-filled crazy-driver area. Walking through the beautiful old spanish style buildings, courtyards, fountains, parks filled with big trees was so nice for both of us. Check the links section to the right to see photos of Stanford. Tomorrow another day of resting up (except for moving to another hotel) and preparing for Monday.
I’ll keep this post short you’ll be happy to see…
Good night
Dan

Hi Sandy and Dan - So glad to finally hear from/about you! Just want you to know that I’m so sure this is going to be the experience you want it to be, and can’t wait to have you back healthy and happy again. Thinking of you all the time - warm thoughts and positive energy going your way! Keep smiling and keep fighting! You are amazing!! Love, Carol

Sandy It is comforting to all of us to know that you have Dan, Stanford, and such wonderful supportive friends and family. God is looking out for you. Your class is doing well but they miss you and ask about you often. We are sending pictures and letters soon. Yesterday we were doing math and I looked over and saw Liliana punching at the air. Frustrated with her I asked what she was doing! She said she was fighting Ms. Beardsley’s cancer, so I joined her. :) Love to you and Dan, Kim

THANKS! for this method of communicating. When I didn’t see my message from the 18th, I was concerned that I’d made some kind of electronic error. Thankfully, I was just a few days early. I’m so glad to know that this is now working and so thrilled that you love the Stanford area and your health care support group. You are in the RIGHT place, at this time. I grew up in California so I know how beautiful it is! (and how frightful the traffic is - but remember, it’s just because there are so many people who love California!) Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we now have 2 candles burning 24/7 for you - sending positive, healing energy all the way to CA. I have so many thoughts, but this especially: As I went into my surgery last August (2004), I was filled with overwhelming gratitude for the loving doctors and nurses who gave their best for my wellness and for the loving support from family and friends. The light of my gratitude outshown the darkest of my fears…………….All for now. Your friends in health, Paige & Chip
